Join Arup's People Function during an exciting transformation period as an EDI Lead. You'll support the delivery of our Global EDI Strategy and People Strategy, initiating and managing innovative, sustainable projects and interventions. This role involves developing and reviewing policies, systems, and programs to foster an inclusive environment globally.
The primary focus of this role is to support the delivery of our Global EDI Strategy and People Strategy. This role will initiate, and project manage innovative sustainable projects, interventions, and approaches. The EDI Lead will support the development and review of relevant policies, systems and programs. The EDI Lead will have subject matter expertise in, for example, disability, race, gender or LGBTQ+, and be able to integrate EDI into disciplines like Learning and Development, or Talent Acquisition whilst working in close collaboration with other CoEs. This role builds effective relationships and partnerships (both internally and externally), fosters an inclusive environment across the region/s and globally, and is a point of contact for expertise on EDI.
The Opportunity
- Deliver the Global EDI strategy across the region or business areas including working with CoEs and engaging with stakeholders to create partnerships and/or a network of EDI champions as appropriate.
- Proactively identify opportunities for and contributing to global alignment of EDI efforts and initiatives.
- Manage projects and strategic initiatives and events related to EDI in the Region, business area or with CoEs or People Partners, ensuring support and delivery, as well as representing Arup externally as an EDI thought leader.
- Partner with the Region Boards, business areas and CoEs to deliver culture and transformational change.
- Ensure compliance and reporting with relevant legislation in regions, maintaining inclusive policies.
- Provide support and direction to Connect Networks to project manage the delivery of country and/or region Diversity Action Plans and to help amplify member voices, building capabilities for underrepresented communities.
- Distil broad sets of data into concise narratives for presentations.
- Coordinate and follow up of legal reporting, external benchmarks and awards.
Is this role right for you?
- Qualification in a relevant field and at least 7 years of experience in a professional services or global organization.
- Proven record of advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion within a complex organization.
- Advanced understanding of leading EDI practices and project management skills.
- Proven skills of influencing, building and sustaining relationships and change at all levels of an organisation, with the ability to successfully challenge, review and update existing procedures with relevant team or colleague.
- Self-motivated with a growth mindset, personal integrity, and alignment with Arup's values and aims.
- Displays curiosity, adaptability and courage in their approach to leadership and their new
role.
