In the Mauritius Office, we have a friendly, sociable and ambitious multi-disciplinary team of Engineers and Consultants working in various market sectors. You will be part of our Infrastructure team to work closely with our senior engineers on an expanding portfolio of projects across a variety of sectors.
You will work in a multi-disciplinary environment alongside environmental, planning, engineering and urban design specialists, and collaborated closely with technical disciplines (both internal and external to Arup) to deliver integrated environmental and sustainability consultancy services.

The Opportunity
We are seeking an Environmental & Sustainability Consultant to support the delivery of high-quality environmental assessment and sustainability advisory services across a range of projects in Mauritius and the wider region.
Undertake research, data analysis, and support the preparation of environmental reports including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEAs) and Environmental Monitoring Reports (EMRs).
Contribute to sustainability advisory activities, including the development of sustainability strategies, action plans and support for project-based sustainability frameworks and certifications (e.g. LEED, EDGE etc). Carry out site inspections, environmental monitoring and compliance reviews. Review and apply environmental legislation, policy and guidance to support permitting and compliance activities.
Support senior team members and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project outcomes. Assist engagement with regulators, clients, and project stakeholders.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking for people with the following skills:
· A degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering or a related discipline.
· Experience working on environmental assessment and sustainability advisory projects in a consultancy or delivery setting.
· Good understanding of environmental legislation, policy or regulatory processes in a project context.
· Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks, proactively manage inputs and outputs, and seek guidance where needed to ensure quality delivery within agreed deadlines.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks across projects in a fast-paced environment.
