The Opportunity  

The Environmental Analyst will support the delivery of infrastructure and corporate projects across Colombia, the wider LATAM region, and potentially international markets.

This role focuses on providing technical environmental and sustainability support, primarily through the review of project information, environmental due diligence, and preparation of technical reports, ensuring alignment with Colombian regulations and international best practices.

The position is well suited to an environmental professional with a solid technical foundation and 3–4 years of experience, looking to grow within a multidisciplinary consulting environment.    

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Arup’s Sustainability and Investment Advisory (SIA) services in LATAM, contributing to project execution and team capability.
  • Provide technical support to multidisciplinary teams on environmental and sustainability components of infrastructure and corporate projects, including transport, buildings, and industrial developments.
  • Review project documentation, permits, monitoring data, and technical studies to support environmental due diligence, compliance assessments, and sustainability reviews.
  • Assist with the preparation of environmental and sustainability reports, including desk-based reviews, site visit inputs, and client-facing deliverables across Colombia and LATAM.
  • Identify and assess environmental risks and impacts, ensuring consistency with Colombian environmental regulations and applicable international standards.
  • Support the application of international environmental and sustainability frameworks, particularly those relevant to project finance and ESG requirements.
  • Contribute to proposal development and business development activities, providing technical inputs as required.
  • Support continuous improvement of environmental performance, resource efficiency, and sustainability outcomes across projects.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 4 years of professional experience delivering environmental projects in Colombia, with a solid understanding of national environmental regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience supporting or delivering environmental due diligence, environmental studies, compliance assessments, or sustainability reporting.
  • Familiarity with international environmental and sustainability standards and frameworks, such as:
    • ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems)
    • ISO 14064-1 / GHG Protocol (carbon footprint and emissions accounting)
    • GRI, SASB, or similar ESG reporting frameworks
  • Demonstrated technical capability in areas such as:
    • Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
    • Environmental risk and impact assessment
    • Resource efficiency and sustainability performance
    • Carbon footprint quantification and analysis
    • General environmental studies and technical reporting
  • Advanced English proficiency (B2 level or above, written and spoken).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Good planning, organization, and time-management skills in a consulting environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in Colombia without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
