Engineering Consultant / Assistant Engineering Consultant (Offshore Wind)
Responsibilities
Provide design and advisory services for offshore wind power facilities.
Purpose
- New headcount
- Arup's Tokyo office has recently grown its business in renewable energy, particularly in the design and consultancy of foundations and supports for floating offshore wind farms. In October 2020, we will officially launch the Energy Discipline.
- The position will focus on the design and advisory of offshore wind farms. The successful candidate will also be interested in contributing to the business of the client from an engineering perspective in the field of renewable energy and related infrastructure, depending on the needs of the client.
Relationships
- Reporting line: Tokyo Office Offshore Wind Leader
- Team members: 1 Senior Engineering Consultant, 1 Engineering Consultant, and 1 Graduate Engineering Consultant
- Tokyo Office is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm that provides design and advisory services for offshore wind farms as well as the following main services. We work together on each project and develop our services in a holistic approach.
- Structural design
- MEP design
- Façade engineering
- Programme & Project Management
- Rail engineering
KSA (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Knowledge and practical experience in structural design, especially in offshore structures
- Knowledge and practical experience in geotechnical engineering
- Experience of working in English on projects where you will be working remotely and with multi-national teams
- (Preferred) Japanese proficiency: business or native/bilingual

Education
Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
