The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of passionate ELV (Extra Low Voltage) Engineers and help us revolutionize sustainable building design in a thriving Dublin market.
You will be an integral member of our multidisciplinary engineering team, collaborating on a diverse and challenging range of projects across all sectors, including commercial, industrial, healthcare, data centres, retail, leisure, and educational facilities. Taking ownership of the design of ICT, Security, Audio-Visual, and smart building systems, you will contribute throughout all project phases from initial concept through to detailed design and implementation. This role offers the platform to drive technical excellence and support Arup’s commitment to sustainable, high-performance built environments.
As a ELV Engineer at Arup, you will:
Design comprehensive structured cabling systems (copper and fibre optic), network architectures, telephony, wireless/radio networks, IoT solutions, electronic security, AV, and smart building systems.
Drive the design and development of ICT infrastructure and systems across all project phases, from conceptualization through to the construction design stage.
Prepare and review critical project deliverables, including basis of design documents, general arrangement drawings, equipment schedules, schematics, specifications, and technical notes.
Collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary design teams (including architectural, structural, and building services engineers—to deliver fully integrated project outcomes in line with established quality management systems.
Engage directly with clients and stakeholders in meetings, design workshops, and site inspections to understand operational requirements and translate them into effective engineering solutions.

We're looking for a highly motivated and technically proficient individual with a passion for sustainable ELV Engineering. We also value:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field (aiming for Chartered Engineer status is a plus).
3 to 4 years of experience designing resilient ICT systems within a consultancy environment, including demonstrated expertise in structured cabling and MEP facilities for ICT.
Established proficiency in ICT/Telecom infrastructure and multimedia communication systems (LAN/WAN, telephony, wireless, radio, IoT), alongside a thorough understanding of IP fundamentals, network devices, AV, and security systems.
A proven track record of delivering ICT infrastructure design projects across various sectors (data centres, hospitality, industrial, commercial, and social infrastructure) through RIBA/BSRIA design stages.
Extensive familiarity with industry standards (TIA, ANSI), national building codes, and local regulations.
Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, and experience with digital engineering tools such as Navisworks.
