As part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across Italy and beyond. Our Mechanical & Electrical engineers work closely with architects, designers, and specialists across disciplines to deliver truly integrated and impactful solutions for our clients.
The Opportunity
The Building Services (MEP) team has been growing consistently in the last 3 years, working on iconic buildings in Italy and in Europe, on a diverse range of projects including Stadia, Luxury Hotels, Offices, Commercial, Healthcare, Science and Industry and Educational projects. The role offers excellent prospects for career development and the opportunity to be involved in different and challenging range of design projects.
As an Electrical Engineer/Technician at Arup, you will:
- Be responsible for the design and delivery of electrical services (MV, LV and extra-LV), collaborating with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Develop technical analysis, calculations (energy balances and power distribution systems), computations, specifications, modelling, and reporting.
- Design renewable energy systems.
- Be accountable for delivering high quality work of which may take the form of drawings, reports, standard documentation, presentations, authority submissions etc, within the agreed timeframes.
- Support and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in site visits, client meetings, design reviews and project workshops, gaining valuable industry exposure.
- Cooperate closely with our international offices.

We require:
- Degree from an Engineering University (Building/ Electrical/ Energy/ other relevant) or a relevant technical Diploma.
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience into the design and delivery of electrical installations (MV, LV and extra-LV).
- Knowledge of sustainability principles.
- Good planning and organisation skills.
- Fluent level of written and spoken English and Italian skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good knowledge of CAD and/or Building Information Modelling.
We also value:
- Knowledge of Italian codes and planning phases
- Interest in sustainability
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with an eagerness to learn and apply new concepts.
- Availability to travel within the region (Europe).
