Joining Arup

Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

Watch this short clip to discover how Arup are shaping a better world and how you could be a part of it!

The Opportunities

Due to continued growth, we have new opportunities to join our North Transport team! We are seeking applications from Traffic Signalling Engineers, External/Street Lightening Engineers and Intelligent Transport Systems Engineers to join the team. The roles are primarily focused on our Systems and Operations theme and will see the successful candidates work on large-scale multi-disciplinary and advisory projects to deliver traffic signalling and intelligent transport systems technology projects both nationally, and internationally, working with some amazing clients.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Are these roles right for you?

We are seeking engineers across a range of experience levels. Whether you are at the early stages of your career or bring extensive experience, including team leadership, we have opportunities available that align with your expertise. With offices throughout the UK, we can offer flexibility on which office you work from on a hybrid basis. If you have good knowledge of roadside electrical installations from either a lighting, traffic signals or traffic technology background, we want to hear from you.

We are interested in speaking with individuals at all levels of seniority who possess the following qualifications and skills.

  • HND, degree and/or masters in relevant field.
  • Experience with industry standard software e.g. Trimble
  • Ability to articulate complex issues, write reports, present effectively and manage client relationships.
  • Professionally qualified or working towards professional qualification with a relevant institution.
  • Enthusiasm for a career in transport, including traffic signalling and technology, underpinned by a knowledge and understanding of the sector and work.
