We're seeking an Electrical Engineer to support Senior Electrical Engineers and Design Managers on major energy and resources projects, including high-voltage infrastructure developments in the APAC region such as Electrical Supply Industry Transmission and Distribution works, large load customer connections, distributed energy resource connections and centralised generator connections. This role involves delivering electrical design work, performing technical calculations and analyses, preparing specifications and reports, and contributing to project bids. You’ll be involved across all project stages, from pre-feasibility and concept design through to detailed design.
The Opportunity
• You will work under supervision within a defined area of responsibility. This may include being responsible for specific parts of an external design project.
• You will be responsible for checking the quality and accuracy of own and others work. Furthermore, you may be responsible for the development of others through providing guidance, training and feedback.
• Your work will involve small and medium sized projects, as well as being a key member of larger project groups. This will include design, technical documentation, cost estimates, project scheduling and meeting deadlines and budgets.
• Depending on the project size, complexity and risk profile, you may be managing the delivery of the project and design team.
• You may be required to support the business development team in pursuit of new project opportunities and bidding.

Is this role right for you?
• Experience in the concept and detailed design of electrical substations (MV and HV).
• Ability to work in a team on primary substation design.
• Ability to work in a team on overhead and underground mains design.
• Working knowledge of associated software packages necessary for design of electrical and power systems (incl. but not limited to AutoCAD, ETAP, PLS-CADD, CYMCAP, CDEGS).
• Has knowledge, keeps up to date with current industry information and own knowledge and skills and the Australian Standards.
• Preferably has familiarity with National Electricity Rules (NER).
