The Opportunity
As a Electrical Engineer at Arup, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team. Within the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health) department, you’ll serve our clients through leading-edge projects. With these projects, we aim to fulfil our vision of designing and delivering regenerative buildings that add value to society.
You’ll work on the electrical engineering subdiscipline for medium to large-scale projects, leading packages of work for the design of electrical installations such as power systems, lighting systems, emergency power systems, electrical distribution systems, as well as fire detection and evacuation systems. You’ll be contributing to quality control, meeting deadlines, and budget control within the discipline.
You’re capable of conceptualizing assignments and translating them into fully detailed designs, while also ensuring high-quality supervision during project execution. You make an impact by completing your tasks professionally and on time, proactively and accurately guiding junior team members, and collaborating with colleagues and other stakeholders.

Prepare the design and contract documentation and specifications.
Design Electrical services and installations for complex building services projects across various sectors (Property, Culture, Science and Industry, etc)
Present projects and design solutions to clients and other partners.
Be part of a multi-disciplinary team
Does this role inspire you?
We're looking for a highly motivated and technically proficient individual with a passion for sustainable building design. These are the essential skills and qualifications for the position:
- Completed technical education (Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering) at HBO level or higher;
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrable experience in electrical engineering through project references of varying size and market segments.
- Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English are essential.
We also value:
- Proven knowledge and experience in project management (finance and quality) for medium to large projects.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with discipline-relevant software such as Revit, Intelec, Dialux, and Stabu.
Previous experience in a consultancy environment.
