The Opportunity

Data Centres are increasingly becoming a core component of our vital infrastructure. Their operators need to ensure the longevity of their sites, optimise them for mission-critical tasks and equip them with the latest hardware. At the same time, it is important to ensure cost efficiency and sustainability. From solutions to make better use of existing infrastructure to designing new 'energy efficient' structures, we have successfully helped our clients achieve these goals.

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer who is excited by the opportunity work on projects in the Data Center space.

We have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who is looking to rise to the challenge of working in the data centre sector and becoming a permanent member of our friendly, encouraging and creative Building Engineering Team.

As an integral member of our multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will work alongside Senior Electrical Engineers to deliver the electrical design packages from initial brief through scheme & detail design to installation and commissioning.

In addition, our growing team provides opportunities for progression through experience of Sustainable, Innovation and Digital Development in the Data Centre sector and exposure to market leading “tech giant” and colocation data centre clients.

The role will see you:

  • Contributing to the development of innovative and sustainable electrical solutions for data centres 
  • Ensuring the quality and accuracy of individual work, taking accountability for defined parts of design projects. 
  • Representing the team at internal and client meetings 
  • Collaborating with the team in designing electrical systems for data centres and preparing technical drawings and documentation for projects 
  • Mentoring and supervising Graduate Engineers and Technicians

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for an engineer who is interested in further developing their design and project management skills on fast-paced and highly technical projects, working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary design teams.

Experience in electrical services design on a range of projects with a background in Data Centre design but also including mission critical facilities such as healthcare, manufacturing, aviation, laboratory and industrial facilities will be considered.

We’re looking for a candidate who:

  • Is a qualified Electrical Engineer
  • Is working towards Chartered Engineer status 
  • Has background in design software packages, including SKM/ETAP/Ametch
  • Has background of working within the BIM environment using Revit
  • Demonstrates passion for quality, sustainability, and innovation 
  • Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills for team-based working
