We are looking for a junior EDMS support administrator to work within a dynamic team supporting our essential project platforms and tools that are used by our global engineering project teams across the built environment. Essential platforms types include; Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), Common Data Environments (CDE), and the application of Building Information Modelling (BIM). 

The global technical software services team designs, delivers, operates, and supports the advanced engineering software and platform used by Arup’s engineers to deliver world-class outcomes to our clients.  

You will play an integral role in supporting our project teams across the region that use our cloud platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint, Bentley ProjectWise, and Autodesk’s Construction Cloud platforms. 

With supervision and guidance, your primary role will involve working closely with project teams and business leaders designing and implementing solutions that support project delivery, automating and streamlining our operations and processes. You will assist with the day-to-day running and maintenance of Arup’s EDMS solutions combining processes, practices, and tools whilst directly supporting engineering projects and teams.  The role reports to the global head of technical software services, based in Brisbane.

You should apply if: 

  • You have a passion to learn new skills in technical platforms and software being used on some of the largest projects across the Asia Pacific region 
  • You have an understanding of, or are motivated to learn how to apply BIM and EDMS solutions on engineering projects   

Responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Operational support of Bentley ProjectWise and Autodesk’s Construction Cloud platform to support project and business requirements 
  • Liaise directly with Project Directors/Managers, BIM Managers, and other project personnel to understand complex project requirements, develop appropriate technical solutions 
  • Provide Level 3 support by managing support requests via ServiceNow escalating to vendor support when required 
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with the Global Help Desk and TSS level 1 and 2 support team when required 
  • Collaborate, coordinate, and provide support services to technical software service teams in other regions providing support, collaborating and knowledge sharing 
  • Keep up to date with software products, trends, and supplier changes. Understand the vendors roadmaps, upcoming releases, new functionalities, and capabilities, liaising closely with the Strategic Partnerships team to promote and share knowledge across the business 
  • Be a part of trials and pilots of updates and new technical services to meet the needs of the business 
  • Design, produce and deliver training to the business community

 Requirements and skills 

Essential skills and knowledge: 

  • Experience of working within large multidisciplinary projects for Infrastructure and Buildings clients or experience in the Information, Communications, and Technology industry with a desire to be more client focused 
  • Developing knowledge of BS1192, PAS1192 and the ISO19650 suite of standards is essential 
  • Ability to build strategic relationships with clients, industry peer groups, partners and vendors 
  • Developing knowledge of technical design software solutions (including Autodesk suites, Bentley suites, Trimble and GIS) across all disciplines to be able to advise on best practice, interoperability, integration and workflows 
  • Knowledge of programming languages and the ability to build on these and use when applicable with support from the TSS team
