Document Controller 

At Arup a very important part of our business is the management, recording and control of documents. Working closely with individual project teams, this process includes the accurate and timely preparation/delivery of submissions and documents to the outside world such as clients, architects, contractors, etc.  Equally important is the accurate recording, control and filing of incoming documents. 

The Document Controller is responsible for assisting in the management and control of project documents, recording incoming/outgoing documents while also providing strong administrative support to the project team. The role of the Document Controller is key to the smooth running and efficiency of the project.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Management Teams establish and maintain bespoke Document Management system for individual projects aligned to our client requirements
  • Carry out all document control functions – record incoming and outgoing correspondence on a register
  • Proactive monitoring of project QA procedures and processes, engaging with Project Teams to address issues and identify improvements
  • Liaising with Project Managers, administration staff and project technicians on all documents
  • Maintaining records and producing regular detailed reports on progress, if requested


Your Education/Profile

  • Previous Document Controller experience is not required.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to maintain accurate records and work in a methodical fashion.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines.
