The Opportunity
As a learning organisation, Arup promotes its members to continuously learn and develop knowledge. Arup’s Strategic Learning Themes are a suite of six, interconnected and transdisciplinary areas of learning designed to enable our membership to develop the expertise to deliver on Arup’s business priorities. These themes are designed specifically to respond proactively to the VUCA and BANI contexts Arup now operates in, and to equip Arupians with the holistic understanding and dynamic skillsets to drive excellence to shape a better future for people and planet.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Manager to help build digital capability to assist in the delivery of Arup’s Digital Transformation strategy and enable the strategic aims of the firm. You will shape the Digital Learning strategy and will be accountable for developing and evaluating transformational Learning that is innovative and impactful to fully enable our members to deliver excellence in everything they do.
The Digital Learning Account focuses on key learning topics such as data and AI, software development, cloud engineering, product management or computational design among others, and aims to upskill members not just for current but also future business needs. It also focuses on assisting our senior management to create the right environment for digital to happen at pace within their area of influence in the firm.
By offering learning and development opportunities to all our members, we are equipping them with the knowledge and skills to harness the power of digital, integrate digital in their roles and projects, and deliver better value and outcomes for our clients and partners.
You will make an impact in this role by delivering a Digital Learning plan in partnership with your key client, Arup’s Chief Information Officer and their Digital Technology Group, that underpins Arup’s purpose, delivering excellence and transformational outcomes for Arup’s members. Taking responsibility for the quality and the success of all Learning solutions delivered through the Digital Learning Account, and in turn, for the full cycle learning programme management including definition of capabilities, diagnosis, design, delivery of learning projects and evaluation. Building strong relationships with other Account Managers, Region Learning Teams and SMEs to deliver excellence at every stage of the learning cycle. Role-modelling excellent Learning standards and behaviours including highly joined up working arrangements with the Learning professionals in all regions.
Is this role right for you?
We are looking for people who:
- Can demonstrate the ability to deliver success when working across all aspects of the learning cycle (e.g. needs, design & development, delivery, assessment & evaluation).
- Has applied a consultative approach when diagnosing Learning needs and advising stakeholders on Learning best-practice.
- Has designed and implemented effective learning evaluation methodologies, with a focus on measuring the success and impact of learning initiatives coupled with deep knowledge of learning trends, technologies and innovation in learning and maintain CPD in these areas.
- Can present a proven background in developing Learning related to digital skills for a range of disciplines (from digital experts to management to multi-disciplinary roles), showcasing the ability to cater to the varying needs of specific audiences.
- Has evidence of managing external partnerships for the delivery of world-class learning solutions (from RFP selection process through to delivery and evaluation) and who has promoted innovation and curiosity in the development of learning solutions and subsequent learning culture for technical professionals in multiple matrix organisations
The role is based in our London Office three days a week, and two days working from home.
