As a world leader in highway engineering, Arup delivers the full spectrum of road and transport infrastructure consulting services. You will be a key member of the highways team, contributing your experience in road infrastructure to strengthen Arup’s technical capability across major projects. The role involves a broad range of design and coordination responsibilities that support the successful delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects.

The Opportunity

•    Support civil engineers in the delivery of road, earthworks, utilities, and stormwater design for major urban and rural highways, local roads, and site development projects

•    Prepare and manage 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation using Civil 3D and related design tools

•    Develop and review technical solutions, including roadworks, access design, bulk earthworks, and services in line with relevant standards and guidelines

•    Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, undertake model reviews and clash detection, and manage design quality and compliance

•    Mentor, delegate to, and review work completed by junior designers and engineers while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Is this role right for you?

•    Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, including advanced features such as corridors, surfaces and grading tools, pipe networks, and model coordination

•    Proficiency in the development of technical drawings and associated tools (CAD,  Bluebeam, ProjectWise)

•    Knowledge of road design standards, including Austroads, Transport for Main Roads, and Australian Standards

•    Experience delivering complex multidisciplinary projects and collaborating effectively with diverse technical teams

•    Excellent communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure

•    A relevant tertiary qualification, professional membership (or progress toward it), and a strong commitment to design excellence and professional development
