Design & Interface Manager

Currently we are looking for a capable and independent individual for the following position as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design management, coordination and project control on major rail infrastructure projects; esp. in underground civil focus
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal and external parties in producing multi-discipline designs
  • Ensure high quality and accuracy of all works as well as to provide guidance, training and feedback to others
  • Encompass authoring and reviewing non-standard letters, reports and other documentations.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of detailed tender submissions and presentations.
  • Prepare project reports for clients summarising key issues and strategically advising on best outcomes
  • Assist in the ongoing development and maintenance of quality systems within the country
  • Be fully aware of all legislative requirements and other regulations governing Occupational Health and Safety and ensuring they are complying in all office/projects
  • Support the firm in maintaining ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 requirement and assist in the ongoing development and maintenance of quality systems within other regions across South East Asia
  • Provide expertise on infrastructural engineering and liaise with other BUs within the geography and/or broadly across the region if needed
  • Build good relationship with existing key clients to enable an expansion of business opportunities for the Infrastructure BU, and other BUs within the region
  • Actively support and participate the implementation of Arup’s vision and strategy statement

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of working experience in managing key rail infrastructure projects, including the supervision of multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Qualified Professional Engineer with a recognised chartership or equivalent internationally is preferable
  • Familiar with Engineering Codes and Practices, contract administration and submission procedures
  • Possess a sound business sense, extensive project management experience, strong technical capabilities and demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Excellent team orientation and with extensive capacity to liaise with external relations.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills as well as effective practice of time and stress management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English & Thai
  • Proven knowledge of BIM, EDMS, MS Office Suite, MS Project, and/or Primavera would be desirable
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
