As a people-centric organisation, we are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment where everyone can thrive and achieve their full potential. Our employees are empowered to make decisions and take ownership of their work, which fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration. At Arup, we value diversity and strive to create a workplace that reflects the communities we serve. As a result, we attract and retain some of the brightest and most talented professionals in the industry.

The Opportunity

Arup is looking for an experienced Data Migration and Archiving Lead to oversee the execution of the Fusion Programme Data Migration Strategy for its global Oracle Cloud HCM implementation.  It will also be responsible for the SI’s delivery of an archiving solution for non-migrated data using Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC)).

  • This role requires hands-on expertise in data extraction, transformation and reconciliation of data, ideally from legacy source systems EBS, Ceridian Dayforce and Taleo.

  • Oversee all data migration cycles including mock loads, dress-rehearsal, archiving, cutover, and production loads.

  • Oversee Arup’s SI partner in the delivery of their data migration and archiving scope, including transformation, load and high-level reconciliation

Key Responsibilities

We’re looking for a collaborative and detail-oriented Data Migration & Archiving Lead to join our Fusion Programme. In this role, you’ll shape and deliver the data migration and archiving strategies, working closely with our SI Partner, technical teams, and global stakeholders. You’ll lead the end-to-end data journey—from defining scope and timelines to ensuring data quality, compliance, and successful transition to Oracle Cloud HCM and our archive solution.

You’ll coordinate data extraction, mapping, validation, and reconciliation activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness across all migration and archiving cycles. Your leadership will be key in managing Arup’s internal delivery, reviewing vendor outputs, and proactively addressing risks and issues. You’ll also play a central role in testing and quality assurance, supporting defect resolution and ensuring data integrity throughout.

This role involves close collaboration with integration leads, compliance teams, and business stakeholders to align data activities with programme goals and regulatory standards. You’ll support service transition and hypercare, ensuring tools and knowledge are handed over effectively to business-as-usual teams. Your input will also shape programme governance, contributing to strategic documents and reviewing deliverables to ensure quality and alignment.

 Skills & Experience

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong leadership capabilities that will support less experienced, and often remote, resources working on Arup’s data extraction and readiness

  • Deep knowledge of Oracle Cloud HCM data structures

  • Demonstrable proven experience managing large-scale data migration workstreams to Oracle Could HCM, ideally from EBS.

  • Strong understanding of Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) to deliver a semantic layer for reporting.

  • Understanding of Oracle HCM modules including Core HR, Absence, Recruitment, Compensation, Benefits and Payroll, together with the supporting technology and the data objects and DM touchpoints.

  • Understanding of Arup’s legacy systems - Oracle EBS, Dayforce Ceridian and Taleo.

  • Experience working with or for global SI partners, with an ability to challenge and drive delivery excellence for Data Migration.

  • Lead and mentor data analysts or People Team colleagues on best practices and DM priorities.

  • Experience working across diverse geographic and cultural landscapes.

Skills & Attributes

  • Shares and presents ideas and knowledge in a way that is positive and constructive.

  • Non-hierarchical, with the ability to engage and communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments.

  • Patient and creative in supporting less experienced data analysts, setting clear priorities for these resources.

  • Fosters team collaboration; embraces diversity and inclusion and actively seeks diverse perspectives.

  • Ability to maintain personal effectiveness during periods of higher than normal workload.

  • Ability to remain positively motivated and foster team spirit at times of significant pressure, including helping others to meet deadlines.

  • Self-aware, understands their role in a team and takes responsibility for own actions.
