The Role:

To support an expansion of our Advisory team and to help deliver existing mandates, we're seeking a Consultant for our Infrastructure Advisory team. In this role you will work within an existing and growing team; providing advice related to the cost, procurement, development and financing of a broad-range of infrastructure projects that include transportation, energy, water, telecommunications and others – delivered with an increasing focus on sustainability, resilience and ESG principals.

In particular, we're recruiting to meet the demands across a number of infrastructure projects for our cost consulting and technical due diligence advisory services.  Ideally we want someone with  experience in the infrastructure sector, specifically with cost consulting/ advisory capacity.  This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly-growing advisory team in the United States.


  • Interpreting engineering / architecture drawings, understanding the implicit construction methodologies and techniques
  • Developing cost estimates for the entire spectrum of project phases (Order of Magnitude, feasibility, budget, construction)
  • Analyzing existing estimates, being able to identify potential issues
  • Performing sensitivity analysis to help with value-engineering processes
  • Developing, presenting, defending, and analyzing complex construction and procurement cost models for relevant stakeholders, deploying compelling visuals and analytical tools
  • Understanding and applying the economic principles and myriad factors that influence infrastructure and property investment and spending
  • Evaluating different procurement methods for large infrastructure and buildings projects
  • Performing risk assessments and quantitative risk analyses for mega-projects, understanding and drawing conclusions from the model’s results
  • Working with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools
  • Understanding financial models related to construction and infrastructure development and delivery
  • Engaging with both internal and external clients on a regular basis, ensuring client’s satisfaction and understanding of project scope and expectations
  • Supervising, leading, and training junior staff in the preparation of cost and risk analyses, maximizing knowledge transfer and ensuring quality of work you're doing
  • Actively participating in both short-term and long-term business and team development
  • Liaising with upper management to ensure compliance with the group’s broader vision and business decisions.


  • Our ideal candidate is likely to have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical or civil engineering), economics, or business
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience (post-graduate) – ideally with experience in the US energy market and in a Cost Consulting or Advisory capacity. Specific sector knowledge in district energy systems, utilities, renewable energy or similar expertise is important
  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite. Experience with Primavera PG & MS Project preferred
  • Demonstrated experience building cost models in Excel
  • Technology knowhow and good understanding of the industry including how best to serve clients
  • Understanding of economics ideal
  • Strong interest in and passion for the infrastructure industry
  • Strong communication skills with sophisticated written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Command of English language crucial; Spanish language proficiency is also preferred
  • Work from our San Francisco or Oakland offices
