About you


To be successful in this role we are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Contaminated Land Consultant to join our growing specialist team. The Arup Environment & Resources team is currently working on some of Australia’s highest priority infrastructure related projects in the road, rail and water sectors


You will ideally have:


• A tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering or another relevant qualification and relevant industry experience in a consulting, private industry or a government environment.
• Experience (5 years +) in contamination assessment, remediation and management and the ability to demonstrate the application of relevant Commonwealth and Victorian legislation and guidelines to deliver value to clients.
Experience in:
-  Writing well-reasoned and concise material;
- Managing site work, including health and safety and subcontractor management;
- The scheduling and sampling of soil and groundwater (soil vapour experience highly regarded)
-  Environmental impact assessment and due diligence would be highly regarded.
-  Project management and business development experience would be highly regarded.
• Enthusiastic, reliable, adaptable and great at building collaborative working relationships.
• Experience and an interest in transport and large infrastructure projects.
• A positive, can do attitude and able to think outside of the template.
• Effective at communicating with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments.
• An enthusiasm for health and safety.
• Able to prioritise and organise own work within time and quality demands of project plans.


About the role


The primary focus of the role is to support on a range of contaminated land projects ranging from preliminary site investigations, detailed site investigations, remediation strategies, waste classification and input into environmental management plans, environmental impact assessments and due diligence assessments.

• Get involved in State significant infrastructure projects. Our current portfolio includes Major Roads Projects Victoria, level crossing removals and Melbourne Metro Rail Tunnel.
