The Management Consultant role supports the delivery of complex advisory projects by applying structured problem-solving, analytical thinking and stakeholder engagement to help clients address strategic and operational challenges. The role contributes to the planning and delivery of consulting engagements across areas such as strategy, operational improvement, organisational change and program delivery, translating analysis and insight into practical recommendations. The role also supports the growth of Arup’s Advisory Services practice by building strong client relationships, contributing to proposals and business development activities, and delivering high-quality work that strengthens the firm’s reputation and client partnerships.
The Opportunity
- Leads and delivers defined project workstreams by structuring problems, analysing data and stakeholder insights, and managing risks, timelines, resources and quality of outputs.
- Engages, facilitates and builds alignment with diverse stakeholders to gather input, support effective decision‑making and strengthen client relationships.
- Develops practical, well‑considered recommendations that balance strategic, operational and organisational considerations, tailored to client needs.
- Produces high‑quality project outputs including reports, presentations, models and frameworks that clearly communicate insights and recommendations, and supports implementation and change.
- Builds strong internal networks within Arup, contributing to business development, team planning, resource coordination, capability building and thought leadership across the region.

Is this role right for you?
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Business, Project Management, Design, Psychology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant industry experience in management/operations consulting, operational improvement, change management, or project management within a consulting environment.
- Professional certification in one or more of the following: Prosci, Lean Six Sigma, PMP/AIPM, PRINCE2, Certified Management Consultant, or CILTA.
- Strong collaboration skills, with an inclusive and team-oriented approach that fosters innovation and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Proven problem-solving capability, facilitating structured, collaborative analysis with clients and subject matter experts to define issues, integrate technical and operational insights, and deliver practical solutions.
