The Opportunity

This is your chance to drive innovation by working on a wide range of international maritime projects improving coastal resilience against natural hazards and climate change. You'll play a key role in shaping sustainable built environments by collaborating with a talented team and working with prestigious clients. This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and development within a global firm committed to positive social impact and innovation.

As a Coastal Engineer at Arup, you will:

  • Develop metocean and coastal modelling studies.
  • Design maritime and coastal protection (nature-based solutions, breakwaters, erosion protection, etc.) and flood protection structures.
  • Be involved in the assessment and management of coastal, estuarine and marine areas, including reports, plans, specifications, and budget estimates.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing, working with multidisciplinary teams across Arup offices globally.

 

Does this role inspire you?

We're looking for someone who is passionate about coastal resilience. You'll also need:

  • Engineering degree qualified in civil engineering with specialisation in maritime or coastal discipline or equivalent;
  • At least 3 years post – qualification design experience in coastal engineering;
  • Experience in Coastal Hydrodynamics and Morphology modelling. 
  • Experience in Coastal Erosion Risk Assessment would be an advantage
  • Two or more years’ experience in Irish/UK market and/or knowledge of one or more European languages would be an advantage.
