The Opportunity

Our Serbia Climate and Sustainability Services team is looking for a consultant so support us in delivering climate change and carbon services for a range of projects including Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Environmental and Social Due Diligence, climate change risk assessment and carbon assessments for major infrastructure projects and other developments. We are looking for someone who acknowledges our passion for shaping a better world and will help to develop and deliver our carbon and climate change services bringing technical expertise delivering consultancy services.

The role sits within our Serbia geography but flexibility for other Europe offices may be considered for the right candidate as the role will require significant cross-regional working.

As a Climate risk and carbon specialistat Arup, you will:

  • Review climate change risks and carbon assessments to determine alignment with national and international requirements.
  • Undertake climate change risk assessments in line with national and international requirements and best practice to identify potential climate risks and management measures.
  • Undertake carbon assessments to identify key carbon sources across the project lifecycle and quantify Greenhouse Gas emissions for internal and external clients.
  • Support the team in wider environmental activities including impact assessment and due diligence.
  • Work with international specialists in Arup to implement sustainable finance concepts on our projects. 
  • Develop and convey knowledge in climate risk and carbon in the development of our Environmental and Social services.

Does this role inspire you?

We're looking for someone who is passionate about mitigation of climate change risks and carbon emissions. 

We also value:

  • Bachelor or master’s qualification in a relevant field, such as Carbon and/or Climate Change Management, Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Environmental Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science (with appropriate and relevant knowledge). 
  • Knowledge in climate change risks and carbon assessment, including in relation to national and international requirements
  • Appreciation of Serbian and/or Multilateral Development Bank policies and initiatives on climate risk, greenhouse gas emissions and sustainable finance.
