Civil Infrastructure Designer


We currently have a requirement for a Civil Infrastructure Designer Engineer to join our Site Infrastructure Group in Dublin. Candidates will be looking to gain invaluable experience within an established consultancy with a friendly office environment. This role offers the successful candidate long-term opportunities for career development. 


The Role 

  • Working within a multi-discipline team of engineers, technicians and other professionals to develop engineering designs for a variety of large scale industrial and commercial projects from concept to detailed design and construction. 
  • Establishing the site infrastructure strategy, co-ordinating the overall design process and integrating with associated design requirements from the various design partners. 
  • Responsible for the production of site infrastructure designs including, site layouts, road layouts, site logistics, drainage designs, cut and fill assessments, electrical ducting infrastructure and drawings to relevant standards.
  • Responsible for completion of design tasks to time and budget. 
  • Assigning and checking the project work of engineers, graduates and technicians. 
  • Ensuring compliance with Arup standards as set out in the company’s quality procedures. 
  • Preparation of drainage specifications, providing input to contract documents and supporting the delivery of designs through the construction process. 
  • Management and procurement of sub-consultants such as Topographical surveyors, CCTV surveys and other site activities including liaison with stakeholders and supervision of drainage contractors.
  • Provision of expert advice to assist our clients and developing strategies and solutions to help them to resolve drainage problems.



  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar. 
  • Must have chartered professional status 
  • Strong technical skills in the design of site infrastructure and general civil engineering projects including proven experience in the design and delivery of large scale drainage projects working with Windes Microdrainage or similar design software.
  • Ability to supervise the design of all aspects of site infrastructure and general civil engineering design tasks from conceptual layout to detailed design and construction. 
  • Experience of design interfaces, e.g. geotechnical, environmental, highways, structures etc. 
  • Familiarity with 3D design and drawing production software including AutoCAD, Autocad Civil 3D, Revit and Navisworks.
  • Ability to prepare and check reports and collate specifications from all parties to the project and to collect other data and statistics necessary for the preparation of progress and technical reports. 
  • Ability to research information and data independently and ability to corroborate facts required for the resolution of contractual problems and disputes. 
  • Awareness of the regulatory framework associated with planning and approval regulations/processes, together with experience of managing site infrastructure projects through the planning process 
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office software particularly MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint
