The opportunity
- This is a full-time (40 hours per week), six month internship (Pasantía) running from (1st semester- January to July)
- Interdependence between skills in delivering sustainable outcomes
- Many phases of the planning, design and construction process
- Techniques associated with construction activities
- Regulatory environment for gaining approval at different stages of project delivery
- Wide range of disciplines and skills with Arup
- Needs and concerns of our clients
- Big-picture awareness that permeates every skill area in Arup
- Format, style and quality of our reports, calculations, plans, drawing and specifications
- MicroStation and AutoCAD software to layout roads, rail alignments, structures concepts
- Applicable codes, specifications and standards for design of the above elements

Required:
- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree (Pregrado) in Civil Engineering with an emphasis and interest in infrastructure.
- Sound knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals
- Knowledge in Architecture and Design
- Familiarity with civil drafting software
- Strong technical writing
- Professional demeanor
- Good communication skills essential for team-based working
- Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
- Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
- Advanced English Skills (verbal and written, B2 or above)
- Must be enrolled at the following universities: Universidad de los Andes, Universidad Nacional de Colombia - Sede Bogota, Universidad del Rosario, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad Central, Universidad Externado de Colombia, Universidad de la Sabana and will need to apply through respective university portal in addition to completing an application here.

Preferred:
- Proficient with civil engineering design and analysis tools for roads, rail, structural systems and/or geotechnics.
- Fluency in 3D CAD software
- Technical editing
- Evidence of past internship or extracurricular activity in the field
- Proven ability to perform in a deadline driven environment

- Independent Engineer for over 16 Toll Road projects in Colombia, including Ibagué - Honda - Cambao – Manizales, Conexión Norte, Pacífico 1, 2 & 3, Antioquia - Bolívar. Among other projects.
