Civil Engineer (Site Development)

We are seeking a high calibre, enthusiastic civil engineer to work in a team of multi-disciplinary engineers, to deliver a range of urban infrastructure projects primarily in the Yorkshire and North West regions.

We are engaged on urban infrastructure projects supporting our clients to invest in new assets or to regenerate and refurbish existing assets. Our past projects include Bradford City Park, Blackpool Central Business District, Doncaster Civic and Cultural Quarter Wellington Place Leeds, Greengate Public Realm Manchester, and York Community Stadium.


We are seeking a motivated, reliable and adaptable Civil Engineer to be an integral member of the Infrastructure team in Leeds with an ability to develop the technical design of our ongoing projects and to report to the Project Engineer, Project Manager and Project Director (as appropriate).

You will have the opportunity to work in a range of sectors including Highways, Rail, Water, and Cities and will be required to develop solutions to technical problems. You will also assist with coordination as part of multi-disciplinary design teams; and to work on projects at various design stages from concept design through to construction supervision.

You will be capable of developing technical drawings; to write and review technical reports in English and to implement quality management procedures to support the team to meet project objectives to time and programme.

You will be engaging with internal and external stakeholders, clients and designers and you must be able to communicate effectively in a professional manner. You will be expected to represent the Infrastructure team and at both internal and external meetings.


Graduate Engineer with BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering, with demonstrable experience of design. You will be on working towards attainment of or recently achieved Chartered / Incorporated Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers. 

Experience with highway and drainage design for urban infrastructure;

A good working knowledge of relevant design standards and codes including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Specification for Highway Works, Manual for Streets, pavement design, and drainage design

Good IT skills are considered essential:

  • The MS Office suite of programmes.
  • A good working knowledge and experience of CAD including either AutoCad, Microstation; Experience of designing with Civils 3D or SS4 would be advantageous.
  • An awareness of BIM and ideally digital skills including programming

A team player but able to act on own initiative and without supervision, self- motivated, participating in knowledge sharing initiatives, skills networks etc.
