As a Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering complex civil infrastructure and development projects across highways, rail, energy, aviation, master planning and site development sectors. Based in our Melbourne Civil team, you will provide technical leadership in civil design and 12d modelling while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable engineering solutions. You will also support the development of junior engineers, contributing to a high-performing team and helping shape a better world through technical excellence.
The Opportunity
- Lead the delivery of civil design packages, including 12d modelling for earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities and finished surface levels across major infrastructure projects.
- Deliver technical design and engineering solutions in stormwater management, Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD), flood risk management, pavements and utility infrastructure.
- Review, develop and coordinate 12d models while mentoring junior engineers in civil design, surface modelling, drainage and utility coordination.
- Manage project delivery activities, including programme planning, resource allocation, budget monitoring and project performance to achieve successful outcomes.
- Represent Arup in client and stakeholder meetings, providing technical expertise and building strong relationships across multidisciplinary project teams.

Is this role right for you?
- A recognised degree in Civil Engineering and at least four years of experience delivering civil infrastructure projects within a consulting environment.
- Strong technical expertise in civil engineering design, including earthworks, roads, stormwater drainage, pavements, flood management and utility infrastructure.
- Advanced proficiency in 12d software for surface and road design, with experience in drainage and utility design considered advantageous. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation is also desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to clients, colleagues and project partners.
- A collaborative approach to leadership, a passion for mentoring and developing others, and a strong commitment to sustainable engineering, innovation and continuous professional development.
