In the Mauritius Office, we have a friendly, sociable and ambitious multi-disciplinary team of Engineers and Consultants working in various market sectors. You will be part of our Infrastructure team to work closely with our senior engineers on an expanding portfolio of projects across a variety of sectors.
You will apply your knowledge and experience in Civil engineering across a variety of multi-disciplinary projects including areas of flood risk management, earthworks, roads and pavements designs, sustainable drainage, utilities, and other key elements of civil engineering projects to shape our projects and continue to bring innovation in our work for successful design outcomes.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a civil engineer with a broad range of experience in all aspects of civil engineering. You will play a part in the ever-increasing digital transformation of our business, seeking new ways to increase our efficiency through automation and to offer new services to our clients through our integrated digital approach to design.
You will be required to work closely with other technical disciplines (both internal and external to Arup) to deliver high quality civil infrastructure services for successful design outcomes while integrating sustainable principles into projects.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking for people with the following skills:
· Degree qualified in Civil Engineering. Registered Engineer with CRPE (Council of Registered Professional Engineers) in Mauritius or any other recognised institution, or close to achieving professional registration.
· Be conversant with AutoCAD and Civil 3-D within your probation period by using our self-learning tools on SharePoint and/or support from the team.
· Interpreting client’s requirements to produce sustainable, efficient and cost-effective designs as part of an overall Civil Engineering deliverable package involving below ground drainage design, hydrology and earthworks analysis amongst others.
· Collaborate with other construction professionals and specialist designers as and when required to integrate the civil engineering deliverables into an overall coordinated BIM model.
· Carry out site inspections as and when required, attend site meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs. The review of the works on site forms a critical element in your duties, the aim is to ensure that the contractor is executing the works in accordance with the design, drawings and good construction practice. Including the co-ordination of engineering design with external parties such as project managers, quantity surveyors and contractors.
