Our technical teams address every aspect of civil engineering design, working in close collaboration with the full breadth of Arup’s other design and engineering disciplines.
The Opportunity
This is your chance to be part of the Civil & Water team in Madrid. Our team work on a diverse range of projects from city-wide and region-wide Masterplanning, to infrastructure designs for water, energy, rail, highways, aviation, date centres and building property projects. We work across all phases of projects from advisory, concept, through to detailed design and construction supervision. We deliver projects for a whole host of clients and organisations including government agencies (both national and local), local authorities, private developers, contractors, and utility companies. We collaborate and support others on projects across Europe and overseas as part of an unrivalled and diverse community of local and global experts.
We are looking for a technical individual to join the team where they can grow and develop their skills. The successful candidate should have relevant experience working within a design organisation delivering work within civil engineering.
As a Civil Engineer at Arup, you will:
Provide support in the design of site development projects, including road and utilities design
Participate in various phases of project development, including project bids as well as concept, schematic and detailed design stages.
Be involved in the preparation of calculations, reports, drawings and technical specifications for a variety of national and international projects.
Coordinate work with engineers from other disciplines and architects on multi-disciplinary projects.
Attend meetings and communicate with clients
Does this role inspire you?
We are looking for someone proactive and dynamic. Ideally, you’ll bring:
A master’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline
At least 2 or 3 years of experience in a similar role
Knowledge and experience of using design tools, which may include AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, Revit, Navisworks and GIS, as well as hydraulic modelling softwares.
High level of spoken and written English and Spanish
Good communication and presentation skills, and an ability to interact collaboratively with coleagues and other members of professional teams with confidence
An ability to focus on design excellence and personal motivation to strive continuous quality improvement
