Joining Arup
Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

As a world leader in its field, Arup offers the full spectrum of civil engineering consulting services. The Perth Civil Infrastructure team specialises in delivering smart solutions to complex civil engineering problems, either as the lead discipline or as a technical specialist within a multi-disciplinary team. The Team currently has a wide-ranging portfolio of projects ranging from strategic infrastructure planning to mixed-use urban densification projects to greenfield industrial estates. We work across all stages of the project life cycle from the pre-concept phase to construction phase support.
As a Civil Engineer within the Civil Infrastructure team, you will contribute to the delivery of these projects. You will undertake design activities, assist in the preparation of technical documentation, reports, cost estimates, tender submissions, project programmes and project meetings. You will be essential to delivering projects to deadlines and meeting budgets.
Ideally, we are looking for a Civil Engineer with 4+ years’ experience delivering land development projects, preferably in Western Australia. We are looking for an applicant with a variety of technical skills including utilities design and coordination, road design, drainage modelling and earthworks/topography design.

The Opportunity
•    Involvement in small, medium and large projects delivering designs, technical documentation, cost estimates, tender submissions and project scheduling.
•    Working independently, referring up as necessary. You will be responsible for meeting deadlines, managing quality and communicating with the client and stakeholders.
•    Contribute to the development of others by providing guidance and feedback on performance.
•    Provide design and technical expertise in areas such as road design, earthworks/topography design, stormwater design, water and sewer reticulation and site development.
•    Contribute to delivering pre-concept infrastructure projects including due diligence studies, optioneering assessments and strategic infrastructure planning reports.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.
You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

•    Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or similar area.
•    Relevant 4+ years of industry experience, preferably within a consulting business environment.
•    Proficiency in 12D, Microstation or AutoCAD desirable.  Experience using hydraulic modelling packages such as DRAINS would be advantageous.
•    Experience with relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.
•    Ability to communicate with people in both technical and non-technical environments across diverse levels of experience.
