Civil Design Engineer

We are seeking a suitably qualified Civil Design Engineer for a wide range of challenging infrastructure projects in our Ireland team, based in our Cork Office at 1 Albert Quay.

The current civils team which is based in Cork and Dublin provides a range of design services on projects in both the public and private sectors. We work very closely with other Arup teams as part of Arup-wide multi-disciplinary teams in Ireland and across the World.

We deliver projects primarily in the Science, Industry and Technology, Property, Healthcare, Social Infrastructure and Education sectors.

The team works principally in a BIM focused environment, constructing civil engineering designs in Civil 3D and Revit for coordination and connection with each discipline team in a collaborative common data environment (CDE). We deploy green infrastructure (GI) and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) designs to the maximum extent possible on our projects.

At Arup, we combine the various core civil engineering aspects of a project and combine these into a single business offering for our clients, which is delivered by our dedicated Civil Engineering Team. 

Required Qualifications/Experience

The ideal candidate will be looking to develop their design experience and gain invaluable experience within a friendly and focused working environment and will have the following qualifications and experience:

·       Degree qualified in Civil Engineering with minimum 5-6 years’ experience within a consultancy environment.

·       Should have either gained or working towards gaining chartered professional status or a similar qualification.

·       Civil engineering technical design skills in the area of surface water, foul, water, roads and carparks, earthworks, Electrical and Fibre utilities.

·       Passionate about working in the  digital delivery of projects and keeping appraised of latest industry developments around digital and BIM.

·       Experience in working within teams in a digital/BIM environment, co-ordinating civil services with those of other disciplines

·       Experience with Civil 3D/Revit and other BIM software

·       Knowledge of Navisworks

·       Knowledge of Hydraulic Modelling software
