We currently have a requirement for an experienced Civil BIM Modeller to join our Site Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual looking to further their career and gain invaluable experience in an established consultancy with a friendly office environment. The companies’ workload is varied and interesting and includes both national and international work in many sectors. This is a permanent role and offers the successful candidate long-term opportunities for career development in the areas of drafting, 3D modelling and BIM.   

The successful candidate will be involved in a diverse and challenging range of projects. The role will involve the design, 3D modelling and documentation of civil site infrastructure including road layouts, underground services, site topography and strata, civil structures, retaining walls, culverts, etc. 

As a Senior BIM Technician at Arup, your role will:

  • Produce detailed General Arrangement drawings, plans and sections for the site infrastructure using AutoCAD. 

  • Produce 3D models using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit and other BIM software 

  • Coordinate design work with in-house staff as well as other design professionals. 

  • Prepare Construction Documentation 

  • Take responsibility for checking own work and that produced by others, including external consultants, sub-consultants and contractors 

  • Complete work to agreed timescales, programme and budgetary constraints. 

Does this role inspire you?

We're looking for a highly motivated and with an active interest in Civil Infrastructure and MEP Engineering with a focus on Site Development.These are the essential skills and qualifications for the position: 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a consultancy environment.

  • HNC/HND in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent (NFQ Level 6 or above). Other technical qualifications may be considered where presentation and 3D modelling skills are of a high standard.

  • Ability to use Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD / 3D.

We also value: 

  • In Autodesk Certified Qualification in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • A qualification in Building Information Modelling.

  • Experience with Revit Structure/MEP or similar BIM software.

  • Knowledge of Navisworks, clash detections and construction sequencing.
