We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Civil BIM Designer to join our Canada BIM Team in our Toronto Office. This role is ideal for someone who is ready to take ownership of model development, support digital delivery on multidisciplinary projects, and contribute to the advancement of BIM best practice and digital innovation across the team. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and BIM Designers to produce high quality, fully coordinated BIM models and technical outputs for a wide range of infrastructure projects, including roadways, utilities, drainage, site development projects.
In this role, you will be involved in the development of detailed civil engineering models and drawings using the Autodesk suite of software, particularly Civil 3D and Navisworks, within the Autodesk Forma environment. You will support clash detection and model coordination between multiple disciplines, ensuring that project information is accurate, consistent and aligned with BIM Execution Plans and the requirements of ISO 19650. You will also take responsibility for maintaining sound model data structures, attribute information and digital standards, ensuring that all model content reflects best practice and the needs of the project.
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to internal innovation and continuous improvement initiatives, playing an active part in the ongoing development of BIM capability within the business.

The opportunity
To thrive in this role, you should have a strong blend of technical capability, digital fluency and collaborative communication skills. You will be comfortable operating within multidisciplinary teams, confident in solving modelling challenges, and motivated by opportunities to innovate in digital delivery.
- Civil 3D proficiency: Competent level modelling of surfaces, corridors, pipe networks and grading is essential. Well established use and development of Subassembly Composer components is an advantage.
- BIM software: Hands on experience with Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and multidiscipline coordination. Familiarity with MicroStation, Power InRoads and/or OpenRoads is desirable.
- Standards & protocols: An understanding of ISO 19650 and local BIM guidance, ensuring data consistency across the project lifecycle.
- Data management: Familiarity with Common Data Environments, primarily Autodesk’s ACC and Bentley ProjectWise.
- Quality control: Ability to perform model audits and verify data accuracy in line with BIM Execution Plan requirements.

Is this role right for you?
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent).
- C.E.T. (Certified Engineering Technologist) designation or eligibility considered an asset.
- At least 3 years of experience in BIM modeling and design within the civil engineering team.
- Analytical problem solver, able to interpret drawings, specifications and design requirements, and identify/pre empt clashes and technical software issues.
- Collaborative communicator, able to work both independently and within multidisciplinary design teams.
- Strong time and task management, with the ability to support senior BIM Leads and manage multiple project deadlines.

Toronto Hiring Range – The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $80,000 to $85,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
