We are seeking a Hydrogen & Grid Transition Leader to join our West Coast offices. Someone who will be keenly aware of the changing energy system and the emergence of new energy technologies and regulations, with a focus hydrogen integration, grid congestion, short and long duration energy storage, grid reliability modernization, and intermittency of production.

 

The individual will join a team that is world-renowned for helping clients realize the clean energy and hydrogen transition as a holistic system through a multi-disciplinary and integrated approach. The position will be a leader in delivering the California and Western US clean energy transition - with a focus on hydrogen & energy storage - while given the ad-hoc opportunity to contribute to innovative global projects.

 

Responsibilities:

Work in an integrated team environment to

  • Win projects that include hydrogen technology integration, energy transition planning and implementation, energy storage development for large energy users, and strategic policy and programmatic engagement
  • Build client and partner relationships that advance Arup’s position at the forefront of the clean energy transition and climate services.
  • Deliver quality project outcomes as either a lead or supportive member of the team by contributing technical rigor to best practice systems thinking on a breadth of projects, from large to small,  in support of the Arup Strategy and Global Energy Step Change.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or the Sciences
  • Professional certifications relevant to the role, such as professional engineering licensure.
  • 10 years working knowledge of the California energy system and 5 years working knowledge of hydrogen technology
  • Deep knowledge of the energy transition – with a focus on the California market, the single largest in the United States – including, grid reliability, decarbonization, hydrogen scaling, storage, and renewable energy.
  • Experience with business development activities and relationship management.
