We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated CAD Technician to join our vibrant and enthusiastic Engineering team based in Auckland


About the role
As part of the NZ Infrastructure team, you will cover a broad range of skills relating to Civil/ Electrical/ Rail Design. Your previous experience will aim to enhance the team’s portfolio of skills and expertise in this area. 
This will include:

  • Delivering and developing the drafting tasks in order to meet client requirements for the documentation of various civil, electrical and/or rail infrastructure design; 
  • Participating and contributing as a member of the CSN (CAD Skills Network), providing support and feedback to the Arup Australasia CAD users through CSN (CSN is responsible for creation of the national CAD standards and upgrades to in-house CAD ‘add-on’ software; 
  • Undertaking 3D design modelling to the group; and
  • Assisting others with their work and ensure that deadlines are met.


About you
You will ideally have:

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or similar area; 
  • Relevant industry experience in Engineering/Drafting within a consulting business environment; 
  • Experience in the operation of software design tools including, but not limited to 12D, MicroStation or AutoCAD packages and basic scripting essential. Knowledge of Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, Tekla, Grasshopper, Dynamo helpful but not essential; and
  • Fantastic interpersonal skills and effective report writing.
