About you
•    Minimum Certificate or Diploma in Civil & Structural Engineering or similar area.
•    Minimum of 5 to 6 years of experience in drawing
•    Microsoft Office:

  • Outlook 2007 or similar (Intermediate)
  •  Word (Intermediate)
  • Excel (Basic - Intermediate)
  • PowerPoint (Basic)

•    CAD Software used in Arup:

  • auto CAD Civil 3D,
  • MiTS
  • Revit
  • Tekla
  • MicroStation Bentley Structure

•    Good written and verbal communication skills
•    Good literacy and numeracy skills
•    Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership;
•    Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines – and Arup’s related procedures including OH&S
•    Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments;
•    Ability to maintain personal effectiveness particularly during periods of higher than normal workload;
•    Desire to excel.

About the role
As a CAD Drafter, you are expected to provide drafting support to the Business Unit. You will be engaged in the preparation of 3D / digital models and documentation for a wide variety of structural engineering projects including landmark projects, as well as smaller commercial, education, leisure and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
•    You will be required to work with minimal supervision in your area of responsibility, and you may be accountable for defined parts of design projects;

•    You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of your work;
•    You will represent your team or area at internal meetings and you may be responsible for organising events, activities or small internal business projects;
•    You will assist others with their work and ensure that deadlines are met.
•    MEP Co-ordination on projects
•    Produce CAD/SEM drawings as part of either an engineering team or a contractor’s design team
•    Microstation CAD
•    Direct a CAD team of two in undertaking CSD / SEM co-ordination works
•    To delegate difficult co-ordination tasks upwards to the Interface Co-ordinator.
•    Supporting the firm’s compliance in maintaining ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 requirement.
