Design Engineer BMS

It's an exciting time to be a part of our growth in India. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior BMS Engineer to join our growing team in our Mumbai office

The Role

As BMS Engineer, you will be a key part of the Building Services Engineering Team to provide Data Center project delivery and a supervision capability as part of our multi-disciplinary team. You will be a member of a multi-disciplinary to deliver high-quality engineer in object team services designs, supervising engineers and CAD staff.  Manage timely delivery of designs to agreed cost constraints. Need to take a senior technical role in respect of the building services element of such projects in the production of tender documents, feasibility studies, condition reports, etc.

You will work with a high degree of autonomy, reporting to the particular Project Manager or Director in respect of project performance, under the technical management/supervision of the technical director. This role will have contacts with external collaborators such as architects, clients, project managers, quantity surveyors, and contractors. You will be responsible for mentoring graduate engineers and directing and managing technicians and liaising with other buildings services engineers throughout Arup.

We will be looking for you to develop innovative designs, Liaison with co-professionals and clients, and be responsible for representing Arup in project meetings with the presentation of initial concepts in sketch form. You have to receive and agree to client briefing information disseminate to the Arup project team, production of specs/drawings including briefing and supervision of engineers and CAD staff. Involved in Site liaison, inspection, and witness testing and design and/or survey of building projects and services installations. You will be in a supervisory role within the building services team and ultimately become a key member of the group management structure.

Experience and Qualifications

  • The candidate should hold a first or advanced degree in Electronics/Instrumentation/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or other recognized qualification within the construction industry and be professionally qualified (chartered) and/or aspiring to register.

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience. Data Centre, Commercial, Residential, Hospital, or Laboratory, Pharmaceuticals sector experience would be an advantage with 2+ experience in Data Centre or Mission Critical Environmental Instrumentation experience.

  • Assist for BMS design for Data Centre projects and provide BMS Control Systems engineering expertise in all facilities of the infrastructure that includes HVAC system, Fire Alarm & Public Address System, Security system.

  • Preparation of system architecture, floor risers, control schematics, Design basis, Specification compliance, etc. as per regional requirements.

  • Preparation of BMS Air Flow Diagram (P&ID) representing I/O points & Control Loops.

  • Preparation of BMS Equipment Layout.

  • Review & approve the technical submittals received from Vendor.

  • Estimation- Input study, generation of RFI’s, HVAC equipment take-off, preparation of IO summary, DDC controller selection, field device selection, preparation of BOQ, costing, valve selection, cable schedule, and designing in BIM/Revit experience would be an advantage.

  • Coordination with MEP Teams for interdependent activity.

  • Coordination with Client for Design review & approvals.
