The CAD Technician will provide technical drafting support for Hydraulic and Public Health services, including sanitary plumbing, cold water, and mechanical systems. This role ensures accurate design documentation and coordination with engineers to deliver high-quality project outputs and supports a robust pipeline of commercial and residential building services projects, ensuring timely and billable delivery of design packages.

The Opportunity

  • Lead structural BIM modelling activities for assigned project packages or zones, translating engineering concepts into coordinated models.
  • Produce accurate, high-quality structural models, drawings and details in accordance with Arup’s Revit standards and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to resolve clashes and support effective cross-discipline model integration.
  • Apply BIM Execution Plan requirements and QA/QC processes, reviewing drawing sets before submission.
  • Support the BIM Lead in maintaining model health, organising worksets and planning modelling activities.
  • Proactively identify and communicate modelling issues while providing guidance and mentoring to junior team members.

Is this role right for you?

  • A recognised qualification in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant BIM experience in structural design, detailing and coordination.
  • Advanced structural modelling and drawing production skills, with proficiency in Revit, Navisworks and BIM collaboration tools.
  • Familiarity with clash detection, BIM Execution Plans and QA/QC processes.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams on medium to large projects.
  • Strong ownership, attention to detail and communication skills, with the ability to lead model packages and support junior team members
  • Willingness to be based in Penang, Malaysia.
