Are you currently building a strong knowledge base in construction materials and methodology? Are you interested in how Building Information Modelling (BIM) aids the construction design process and would you like to develop your skills in this area?

At ARUP we have a unique opportunity for a six month internship in BIM. You will join an international workplace environment and contribute to exciting projects for a company that prioritises the diversity and professional development of their staff.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our structural engineering team in Copenhagen.

Your journey through the internship programme:

  • Upon joining Arup, you will be assigned a BIM mentor. Your mentor will guide your development and learning path throughout.
  • You will receive six months of extensive on the job training in BIM modelling provided by our experienced in-house modellers. Work will primarily be in Revit, however other programmes such as AutoCAD, Rhino and Grasshopper may also be used dependant on project requirements.
  • At the three-month and six-month milestones, you will have a check in with your mentor and team leader to review your development against your goals.
  • Towards the end of the internship, your team leader will arrange a meeting to discuss future possibilities.

In addition to on the job training, as a BIM intern you will be entitled to a training allowance. Use of the training allowance will be agreed with your mentor based on your development goals and can include internal courses led by Arup University or external courses, webinars, and seminars etc led by institutions such as DSI and DB.

After completion of the BIM internship programme, there may be possibilities to remain working with Arup as a student assistant through to the end of your studies, and to join Arup as a full-time employee once they are completed.


You should:

  • Be studying for a relevant qualification (f.eks. som bygningskonstruktør eller diplomingeniør) and looking for a six-month internship
  • Be highly motivated, eager to learn and adaptable to a fast-paced learning environment
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Be fluent or highly competent in both the English and Danish languages
