Role

The selected person will be part of Arup's digital services team in Madrid. This team works developing projects for large infrastructure and cities (transport, energy, water) together with the specialist teams in these areas.

Among your responsibilities will be:

  • Identify opportunities and write offers for data management services with new and existing clients
  • Manage and deliver design, implementation and operation projects of cloud-based Big Data solutions
  • Lead and grow a digital data project team

We are looking for a person that will be involved in:

  • Managing projects that include cloud-based Big Data solutions, in the design, implementation and operation phases
  • Managing interested parties, taking into account their levels of influence and interests
  • Taking responsibility for the successful delivery of the project
  • Identifying and tracking project risks and opportunities, managing the quality of project activities and results
  • Establishing and maintaining project governance reviews, raising and resolving issues with an analytical approach
  • Developing and managing teams, their internal organization, monitoring and control of procedures and protocols
  • Developing strong relationships with clients and team members
  • Winning clients through strong business development skills.

Minimum requirements

  • Background in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Roads, Canals and Ports, Industrial or Aeronautical Engineer with 5 years or more of professional experience in the field of Big Data
  • Experience applied to the built environment will be valued, ideally in the field of urban mobility and roads, or in energy and/or water
  • Hands-on years of experience in developing and implementing Big Data applications and products. Provide specific projects on which you have worked, technologies used and the candidate's involvement
  • Knowledge and experience in programming tools and languages ​​for data management and analysis, such as Python, R, SQL, Hadoop/Spark, Databricks, AWS/Azure
  • Data visualization and presentation skills, using platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc
  • Experience in managing, developing and delivering projects that include Big Data in the cloud
  • Experience of at least 1 year in business development and client management
  • Fluent English – minimum C1
