Dedicated to sustainable development, Arup is a collective of advisors and experts working across 34 countries with over 19,000 employees. Headquartered in London, providing design engineering, architecture, planning, and advisory services across every aspect of the built environment. Founded to be both humane and excellent, we collaborate with our clients and partners using imagination, technology, and rigour to shape a better world.

The Opportunity

Based in Bangkok, your focus will be to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of complex, mission-critical data centre projects in Thailand and work closely with our regional leaders in the Asia Pacific and Australia. You will work at the intersection of technical leadership, project delivery, and client engagement, collaborating with global data centre providers, developers, architects, contractors, and Arup’s multidisciplinary teams.

Your role will be instrumental in strengthening Arup’s leadership position in the data centre sector in Thailand, SEA and the wider APAC region, ensuring project success through technical excellence, stakeholder alignment, and scalable engineering solutions.

Your role in our team

  • Serve as Principal-in-Charge (PIC) or Project Director for high-risk, high-profile data centre projects.
  • Lead the design, coordination, and technical delivery of hyperscale and colocation facilities.
  • Be able to demonstrate technical excellence in electrical or mechanical engineering with proven track record
  • Provide strategic leadership and technical oversight of complex engineering systems across all project phases: from master planning and concept design through to detailed design and client-side technical support during construction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with data centre clients, including hyperscale operators and colocation developers.
  • Lead and support business development activities for data centre opportunities.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

  • Significant experience in engineering consultancy, including 5–10 years in the delivery of data centres or similarly complex, high-resilience infrastructure.
  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering. Chartered/Registered Professional Engineer in Thailand (or eligible).
  • Deep knowledge and experience in mission-critical MEP design, including M&E distribution, standby systems, and fault-tolerant design approaches.
  • Strong track record leading multidisciplinary teams in delivering large-scale, technically complex projects.
  • Demonstrated success in client engagement, team leadership, and project delivery
  • Proven leadership skills to inspire and manage diverse technical teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage project performance and negotiate effectively. #LI-PM2  DC2025
