Lead Electrical Engineer

Arup is seeking to add an Associate – Electrical Engineer, at leadership level, to join our multi-disciplinary buildings engineering team in Cork. In this leadership role we are looking for a candidate who is seeking to work in exciting and challenging projects. A candidate with the ability to manage multidisciplinary projects, lead the delivery of high-end electrical engineering work, build strong client relationships, and be active in the development and mentoring of our engineers.

This role comes with the opportunity for career progression and to work on interesting and innovative projects both in Ireland and globally. The successful candidate with will be responsible for leading multi discipline engineering teams including BIM. You will lead projects from business case through to commissioning.  The projects that we work on are underpinned by sustainability and digital influence. The role is also client and external team focused.

The successful candidate should have extensive design experience with Electrical systems in buildings including sustainable, low carbon, and innovative strategies demonstrated on projects.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality engineering work, achieve internal project goals, develop and maintain good client relationships.
  • Manage internal operations and communication within the Electrical Team in Cork.
  • Create a culture of learning and development for the electrical team, examine the needs of the team and individuals, identify opportunities for growth and creativity.
  • Leading electrical engineering and multi discipline design on projects.
  • Using Electrical and MEP skills to provide business focus particularly on Commercial and SI&T areas, monitor clients and business in these areas and seek opportunities.
  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines and working in conjunction with project managers to help complete the work.
  • Participating in local Professional Associations.

 

Your Education/Profile

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Chartered or Professional Engineers Status.
  • 12 - 15 years of experience minimum in this area.
  • Strong technical knowledge in the area of electrical engineering.
  • Good track record of projects.
  • Experience leading project teams on medium to large scale projects.
  • The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work, and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
  • Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all types.
  • Commercial, Healthcare and/or SI&T design experience is preferred but not
