The appointed person will have a focus on client and market development, work winning and the delivery of high-value consultancy services. An important part of the role will be to work in collaboration with a network of experts across Arup’s offices throughout the UK and beyond.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our growing CSS business in the North as an Associate/Technical Director. You will help grow our DCO/EIA team across the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, as well as working as part of a national network, and a global Skills Network.
We are looking for someone that can advise clients and oversee a range of projects, with a range of contacts across the industry, and a real passion for thought leadership and future thinking to help our clients and stakeholders build a prosperous, low carbon, more equitable future, in line with the Arup values and the UN sustainable development goals.
You will have strong interpersonal skills and a wide network, and a proven track record of business and project development. You will be comfortable working with clients and stakeholders in the public and private sectors, and you will be passionate about bringing together ideas and resources across different organisations.
· Help to win work, and grow our business in major national infrastructure, with a focus on the energy sector;
· Meet clients and collaborators, help with business development and work-winning, manage and producing bids, client submissions and presentations.
· Direct projects, oversee delivery of good quality work on time and within budget, managing client relationships on projects, ensuring projects are delivered within the parameters of the Arup Management System.
· Help influence our clients and stakeholders to ensure that we build a prosperous, low carbon, more equitable future, in line with the Arup values and the UN sustainable development goals.
Is this role right for you?
A person who is a good fit for the role will have:
- Established EIA/DCO project experience on energy projects.
- Experience of developing clients and securing work.
- A range of contacts across the industry, and a real passion for thought leadership.
- Experience of leading the writing of analytical reports, producing strong PowerPoint presentations
- A team-player comfortable with people management, development, and contributing to wider organisational goals.
