We're seeking a leader to define our strategy, cultivate a dynamic team, and drive our growth in this critical market, directly contributing to Germany's energy transition and Arup's global ambitions.

We act as trusted adviser for strategy, policy and action on climate change and low carbon energy and a leading consultant in the planning, design and delivery of low carbon infrastructure. The Opportunity

This is a leadership role, responsible for supporting and developing team members, business development activities and work winning and acting as project director and technical director on key projects. This role is for a strategic business and technical leader to enable us undertake energy advisory work and techno-economic studies and develop collaborative relationship with utilities companies, government entities, power developers both in the government and private sector.

In this role you will win and deliver work with clients to: Deliver whole systems energy modelling as a robust evidence base to inform plans. Help to align energy planning approaches for efficiency and effectiveness (including developing relationships and engaging with digital platform providers). Bring together skills to support delivery of energy plans through e.g. regulatory investment; business case support and PMO delivery. This is an externally facing role. You will be responsible for refining and developing our propositions, building relationships with clients and collaborators, and cementing Arup’s reputation in the marketplace.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people with the following skills –

·       Degree in engineering or other equivalent experience; chartership in a relevant professional institution.

·       Experience in one or more of the following areas of the energy system: energy networks, retrofit, renewables, EVs. Experience in energy modelling and planning.

·       Experience in business development; cultivating relationships with clients and stakeholders.

·       Experience of developing technical skills in junior colleagues to support career progression, depth in resources and succession planning.

·       Experience of working within a commercial environment (bids and projects), including client liaison, programme and time management, quality assurance and financial/budget control.
