Our rail experience spans a variety of modes such as High speed, Heavy rail & Suburban, Metro and Mass transit, Light rail, Automated people movers as well as Heavy haul freight. Our regional offices contain talented, multidisciplinary teams offering a broad range of professional services and expertise including railway design, construction, installation, and commissioning.
Our 500 programme and project managers are based in 24 countries across the global Arup network and come from a variety of backgrounds with a range of professional qualifications across engineering, design, project management, construction management and cost control. 

Our Programme and Project Management team are currently active in many sectors including Rail, Aviation, Infrastructure, Transport, Energy & Utilities, Education, Science, Healthcare and Industrial.

The Opportunity
This role will be primarily based in Bangalore office and occasional visits to our Arup India Offices and client offices, ensuring the successful delivery of technically excellent multidisciplinary rail projects and bids primarily in India, ME & UK portfolio and as well as global. 
We are seeking an assistant project manager to join our team of skilled professionals. Is this role right for you?
You will be a talented assistant project manager or project co-ordinator with curiosity, technical skills, and familiarity with the Indian and Middle Eastern construction industry. If you understand (or are willing to learn) the Project Manager role and aim to deliver excellent client services, we want to hear from you.  In addition to your client project work, you will have the opportunity to participate in various business improvement initiatives and engage in a wide range of both formal and informal learning sessions
All the while, you will have the freedom to work independently, managing your own personal development utilizing our in- house and external training opportunities, where you will be responsible within a project team to co-ordinate a teams’ outputs and present to Senior Project Manager or Project Director and ultimately to the Rail Business Leader.  

 Assist the Senior Project Manager and Project Director in Project planning, control, and estimating and co-ordinating the work of project teams. Manage project information flow and assist in developing project execution strategies, lead the project monitoring and progress reporting, including creating reporting dashboards, this includes attending project progress, design, and construction team meetings
Adopt the established project control methodologies, manage several aspects of project controls processes, support the management of contracts. Configuration and document management, organization, and maintenance of files
Assist in preparing for Client presentations and governance meetings and lead the deliverables tracking throughout the implementation phase and assist the delivery of workshops and events related to the business  with risk and issue management status tracking and reporting and provide organizational support to any projects undertaken by the team, as necessary
Assist in Project financial management including month-end processing and organizes a variety of regular and special committee meetings, preparing any required materials and acts as recording secretary in internal and external project meetings, prepares and distributes minutes and action item summaries

Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, such as Engineering, Architecture, Business, Construction Management or Project Management (A Masters in an APM accredited Project Management course or Construction methods is advantageous) 
•    Minimum 2 years of experience in Project Management in any construction projects   with broader understanding of various functions within rail and rail systems will be an added advantage
•    Working experience in any of the Project management software such as Microsoft Project software. Primavera will be an advantage
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to convey information effectively at various levels and through different methods with Discretion, good judgment, personal motivation and the ability to work independently are particularly useful attributes for project assistants
•    Ability to take a lot of initiative and ability to work with little direct supervision and  communicate effectively at a number of different levels and methods
