The Opportunity
We are looking for someone to join our Mechanical team and support the design of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems across different project stages. You will work under the guidance of experienced designers, within multidisciplinary teams and on projects delivered in Poland and internationally.
The role is suitable both for graduates and those starting their careers, as well as candidates with some initial design experience. The level of autonomy and seniority will be matched to your skills and previous experience.
As an Assistant Mechanical HVAC Engineer at Arup, you will:
Support the design of HVAC systems, particularly ventilation, air conditioning, heating and cooling.
Develop BIM models and design documentation in Revit; prepare drawings and schematics in AutoCAD as well.
Carry out basic design calculations, including air balances, heating and cooling loads, hydraulic calculations and preliminary equipment selections.
Coordinate solutions with architecture, structural engineering and other MEP disciplines, including participating in model reviews and identifying clashes.
Collaborate with designers, suppliers and contractors, and participate in project meetings, including meetings held in English.
Support the team during site surveys, site visits and designer’s supervision activities, depending on project needs.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about sustainable building design. There are the essential skills and qualifications for the position:
Degree in Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related discipline, preferably specialised in heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and can read technical documentation.
AutoCAD and Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, to a level that supports efficient design work.
We also value:
Revit or willingness to learn intensively to create or edit models and documentation.
Initial experience in a design consultancy, internship or placement related to HVAC/MEP systems.
Knowledge of Polish technical and construction regulations, industry standards or international standards.
