Assistant Civil Engineer - Infrastructure Design

As part of the Civil Water and Resources team, this role covers a broad range of skills relating to civil infrastructure. In particular, the focus of the Assistant Civil Engineer is to undertake design and consulting services within the Civil Engineering discipline in order to enhance the team’s portfolio of skills and expertise. You will also get the opportunity to work on a variety of Energy, Water, Land Development, Rail and Industrial projects
The Opportunity
At Arup, you’ll join a thriving team dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions. As a Civil Engineer you will deliver technical inputs in areas such as earthworks, drainage, HV and EHV cable and substation works, WSUD and ABC Waters design, water transmission and distribution systems, utility diversion works, civil structures and geotechnical works.
In this role, you will:
- Provide design expertise throughout the project lifecycle, including master planning, feasibility studies, concept design, preliminary and detailed design, and construction support.
- Contribute to small- and medium-sized projects while serving as a key member of larger project teams. Your responsibilities will include design, technical documentation, cost estimation, tender preparation, project scheduling, and ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
- Take responsibility for meeting project deadlines, monitoring budgets, managing resources, and controlling expenditure to achieve financial targets.
- Play a critical role in growing Arup’s Energy, Water, and Resources Infrastructure capability in Singapore.
- Collaborate within an extraordinary collective that encourages individuality and fosters diversity of thought and experience.
Is this role right for you?
We’re looking for someone with:
- A minimum of 1 year (post-tertiary education) of relevant industry experience in Civil Engineering, with a focus on designing roads, utilities, and paving elements in a consulting business environment.
- Preferably, experience working on-site during construction phases.
- Strong skills in highway, paving, and reinstatement design; utility, drainage, and sewer works design; and preparation of authority submissions, tender documents, and construction drawings.
- A track record of delivering development projects through all phases, including pre-concept, concept design, detailed design, and construction, for clients such as local government authorities and private developers.
- The ability to work on a variety of projects across Energy, Water, Land Development, Rail, and Industrial sectors.
