Assistant BIM Designer

The Mid-West PSI Structures BIM Team are looking for an assistant BIM Designer to join our dynamic and innovative team. We work on a variety of exciting projects in various sectors including aviation, health care, data centres, education, commercial, industrial, rail and sport both in the UK and internationally.
The Opportunity
The role would ideally be based in the Cardiff Office, which forms part of our Mid-West geography and includes offices in Birmingham, Bristol and Nottingham; you will regularly interface with teams across this region. For the right candidate, consideration may also be given to basing the role in the Bristol Office. Reporting to the Group BIM Manager, you will be a key member of this multi-disciplinary and versatile team. Your skills will be instrumental in understanding and delivering high-quality Building Information Models. You will be working with the Project Manager, BIM Manager and discipline Engineers to define deliverables, schedules and implement these within the model.

Responsibilities
- Setting up new project models in accordance with project standards.
- Supporting the project team with technical delivery using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Producing structural models and drawings.
- Coordinating / federating model data utilising software such as; Autodesk Forma, Navisworks, and Solibri.
- Engaging with other members of the team to support the development of the group.
- Attendance to both internal and external (when required), coordination meetings.
- Contributing to the development of digital workflows.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking to speak to people who:
- Level 4 (HNC) or higher in an Engineering, Construction, Management, or Architecture related field. (or be about to achieve the qualification).
- Professional qualification (EngTech) with a professional Institution for the discipline or be prepared to work towards and achieve the qualification.
- Experience within a structural/civil engineering consultancy.
- Understan
- ding of model and drawing production using Revit and AutoCAD. Preparation of drawings and models with limited guidance from Engineers, using own experience to develop output from sketches provided by Engineers.
- Ability to balance technician resources against project requirements.
- Software Knowledge
- Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks (essential).
Autodesk Forma, Solibri and Revizto (desirable).
