Role Summary:

Arup is seeking a Asset Management leader to continue to drive and develop Arup’s Asset Management practice, to be based in either our New York or Boston office. The role is part of Arup’s Management Consulting practice which is focused on advising businesses and governments on complex and multidisciplinary challenges and improving the direction and performance of their operations, assets and people. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong, proven work-winning ability to elevate Arup’s presence across US and Canada in the asset management space, alongside the Americas Management Consulting leader and deliver large scale projects  particularly in services like maturity assessments, transit asset management planning and capital planning strategies. You will also contribute to the breadth of asset management priorities for Arup’s existing clients, including helping to position for additional work from existing contracts.

In addition, the ideal candidate will also work with existing leadership and staff to increase understanding and awareness of asset management capabilities across the region and define priorities to effectively grow and manage the practice.  The candidate will act as a project director in driving successful outcomes in complex advisory engagements.

 

The Opportunity

·       Actively lead proposals, cultivate client relationships, and win large and strategic asset management projects.

·       Act as an effective business leader and team builder.  They will work with other leaders to upskill staff, hire new team members and provide positive and effective day-to-day team and supervisory leadership.

·       Play a key role in delivery of asset management projects and actively collaborate with clients to understand business challenges and objectives.

·       Prepare and deliver insightful presentations to clients, conveying complex information effectively.

·       Have a strong focus on delivering large scale projects and managing multi-disciplinary teams

·       Work collaboratively with colleagues leveraging the multi-disciplinary technical expertise across the firm to provide quality advice to our clients and implement recommended strategies

·       Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of implemented solutions, making data-driven adjustments as necessary.

·       Develop and manage multiple client engagements at any given time by leveraging internal and external resources across multiple disciplines.

·       Act as a guide and role model to junior staff, supporting them in developing strategic thinking and consulting skills.

·       Ability to grow and cultivate client relationships in the area of asset management across multiple end markets (transportation & water preferred), including leading or supporting work winning activities, including proposal efforts, and market facing activities

 

The skills 

·       Alteast 15 years’ experience in asset management

·       Bachelors’ degree in engineering, planning or similar.  Masters preferred.

·       IAM Certification preferred

·       Experience in the following areas: transit asset management planning, Asset Management maturity assessments, facility condition assessments, Enterprise Asset Management systems.

·       Proven skills in asset management consulting.  Deep understanding in strategic asset management, asset inventories and effective data management, asset management capability building and maturity assessments, and helping clients overall business process improvement as it relates to asset management.

·       Proven track record in managing and delivering large scale projects along with a strong commercial acumen

·       Active engagement in IAM, TRB, TSGR or similar organizations helping to shape asset management policies.

·       Demonstrated ability to actively grow and lead an asset management practice and track record of developing, mentoring and supervising teams and projects

·       An organized, methodological and creative approach to problem solving and decision-making

·       Strong interest for sustainable development and shaping a better world in line with Arup’s values.

·       The ability to work in one of our east coast US offices (i.e., NY or Boston preferred), and a willingness and capacity to travel to suit our client’s needs (both domestic and international travel). Willingness to travel depending on client needs.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York is $176,000 to $215,000  per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of New York will differ.
