We are seeking an Asset Management Consultant to support delivery of various asset management projects in our New York City or Washington, D.C., office. The Asset Management practice is part of Arup’s Management Consulting practice which is focused on advising businesses and governments on complex and multidisciplinary challenges and improving the direction and performance of their operations, assets and people.

The opportunity

In this role, you will work on exciting projects with major asset infrastructure owners/operators across various end markets including transportation, property, water and energy. You will be using your skills, infrastructure sector experience and your technical expertise to help clients overcome their asset management challenges.

The ideal candidate will help support the asset management priorities of Arup’s existing clients but also help position Arup for additional work from new and existing contracts. You will also work with existing leadership staff to increase understanding and awareness of asset management capabilities across the region and define priorities to effectively grow and manage the practice.

Core focus areas will be:

  • Asset Management project delivery – leading high-quality delivery of asset management projects working with/within multi-disciplinary and consultancy teams, typically comprising a mix of other competences and sized according to the scale of the project.
  • Project management – responsible for projects financial success, outcomes and compliance, including resource forecasting and invoicing
  • Build client relationship and support business development – including building internal and external networks, develop opportunities with clients, managing and preparing commercial bids
  • People management and development – managing and mentoring staff in asset management, including potential supervisory duties

Is this role right for you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, economics, asset management, infrastructure finance, business administration and/or development finance.
  • Possession of relevant chartership, professional qualifications, and membership in a recognized professional body, or equivalent work experience, is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in asset management consulting.
  • Experience working in or advising an infrastructure asset management organization
  • Experience in the following areas: asset management planning, asset management maturity assessments, capital planning, conducting facility condition assessments, and understanding of Enterprise Asset Management systems.
  • Deep understanding in strategic asset management, asset inventory, and effective data management, asset management capability building and maturity assessments, and helping clients with overall business process improvement as it relates to asset management.
  • Excellent project management skills, including resourcing, financial, change and risk management and track record of successful project delivery
  • Demonstrates strong technical leadership capabilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results.
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as well as work well within a team and be able to lead and develop others working alongside you.
  • Recognized for ability to build and maintain strong, working relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Institute of Asset Management Certificate or diploma preferred
  • Accredited project manager preferred
  • Active engagement in IAM, TRB, TSGR or similar organizations helping to shape asset management policies.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York City is $148,000 to $184,000 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of New York City will differ.
