Shape the future of Airports with us in Poland

For more than 85 years, Arup's purpose, shared values and collaborative approach have helped us shape a better world.  With over 20,000 colleagues globally we deliver iconic projects where innovation, sustainability and performance come together.
Our Poland offices in Warsaw and Krakow work closely with Arup teams around the world.

We are looking for a curious and analytical Airport Planner to join our growing aviation team in Europe.

You will contribute to airport projects in Poland and internationally, working on masterplans, capacity studies, operational assessments and the planning of terminal, airside and landside infrastructure.

We are also actively developing our capabilities in AI for Aviation. We believe that artificial intelligence, automation and advanced digital tools will increasingly transform the way airports are planned and operated. An interest in these technologies and the ability to use modern AI tools effectively will be a strong advantage.  This role is based in our Warsaw office.

Your role

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting airport masterplans, feasibility studies and development strategies.
  • Analysing airport demand, capacity and operational performance.
  • Contributing to the planning of runways, taxiways, aprons, aircraft stands and terminals.
  • Preparing planning concepts, spatial layouts, technical reports and presentations.
  • Working with operational and traffic data to identify constraints and improvement opportunities.
  • Exploring the use of AI, automation and data analytics in airport planning.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary and international project teams.
  • Participating in client meetings and workshops.

What we are looking for

  • A university degree, preferably in architecture, transport engineering, civil engineering, spatial planning, aviation or a related discipline.
  • A strong interest in airports, aviation and complex infrastructure.
  • Good analytical, spatial planning and problem solving skills.
  • Good written and spoken English and Polish.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Confidence using Excel, PowerPoint and other standard office applications.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork.

Strong additional advantages

  • Experience or academic knowledge related to airports, transport planning or infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with CAD, GIS, data analysis or visualisation tools.
  • Knowledge of airport operations or aviation regulations.
  • Experience with airport simulation software such as Simio, CAST or AirTOP.
  • Experience using AI tools, automation, Python, Power BI or other digital technologies to support analysis, research, design or project delivery.
  • Curiosity about how AI can improve aviation planning and consulting.

You do not need to meet every preferred requirement. If you are motivated to develop your career in airport planning and believe you could bring a valuable perspective to the team, we encourage you to apply.

What we offer

  • The opportunity to work on challenging airport projects in Poland and internationally.
  • Access to Arup’s global aviation, planning, engineering and digital expertise.
  • Opportunities to develop specialist knowledge in airport planning and AI for Aviation.
  • Collaboration with experienced specialists from different disciplines and countries.
  • A supportive environment focused on professional development, innovation and knowledge sharing.

Join our Polish team and help us shape the next generation of airports by combining aviation expertise with data, digital tools and artificial intelligence.
