The Opportunity

Due to ever an increasing pipeline of work, we are looking for a recent graduate to start or further their career in environmental consultancy and join our UK air quality team. The successful candidate can be based in one of our offices where we already have a wider air quality team presence, namely: Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, York, Sheffield, Birmingham or London. 

You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects among different sectors including energy, aviation, infrastructure and advisory. On a daily basis, you will work alongside our experienced consultants and undertake air quality assessments, from informing design to fulfilling regulatory requirements and accompanying planning applications. You will provide a key role supporting and assisting with all aspects in project delivery, as well as communicating and liaising with clients (internal and external) regularly. Subject to project requirements, attendance at site visits is also to be expected.

Essential qualifications and experience

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant subject

  • Strong interest and knowledge of air quality and environmental matters

  • Strong problem-solving initiatives

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly motivated and a team player

  • Strong organisational skills and able to work to deadlines.

  •  

Desirable experience

  • Experience in delivering air quality assessments and the use of dispersion modelling software such as ADMS, AERMOD

  • Proficient in geographical information system (GIS)

  • Experience in digital tools such as PowerBI, OpenAir and Python for data interpretation and visualisation

  • Member of the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) or Institution of Environmental Science (IES)
